9. ADDENDUM

9.1 Call Room
1. Call Room Stages
There are typically two call rooms:
First Call Room – Initial check-in and inspection.
Final Call Room – Last stop before heading to the blocks.

2. Reporting Time
All athletes (including reserves in semi-finals & finals) must report to the First Call Room at least 15 minutes before their race, as per the official start list.
After checks are completed, athletes proceed to the Final Call Room for final preparations.

3. Checks & Regulations
Officials will inspect:
Swimsuit compliance (must be FINA/World Aquatics approved).
Goggles and swim caps.
No electronic devices (e.g., phones, smartwatches, hearing aids, cochlear implants, headphones).

4. Late Arrival & Penalties
Athletes who do not arrive at the call room by the designated time will be considered as withdrawn and will be fined one hundred (100) US dollars. The athlete will not be allowed to compete until the fine has been paid.

This penalty does not apply to athletes who have been officially withdrawn in accordance with the relevant rule stated above (e.g., due to injury or prior notice given to the organisers).

Reserve athletes (9th & 10th place) must also report to the call room. Failure to do so may also result in penalties.

5. No-Show Consequences
If a swimmer completely misses the call room, the following happens:
Heats & Semi-finals: The swimmer is disqualified (DQ) from that event.
Finals: The swimmer is disqualified, and a reserve (9th or 10th place) may be called up.

9.4.2 The “Stick Board lap” refers to the ringing of the bell during distance events of 800m and 1500m freestyle. The stick with board put into the water against the wall will alert the swimmer that they have two (2) more lengths to complete in the race.

The Chief Timer or the Referee will inform the lane when it is time to put the stick with board, although each lane should be keeping track. The inspector of turns may also be responsible for this.

9.4.2.1 During distance events of 800m and 1500m freestyle, the "Underwater lap counter system" accurately tells both swimmers and referee the number of remaining laps.

9.4.3 False Start
A false start rope or any visual device used for alerting in case of a false start is mandatory for all swimming events. If a rope is used, it should be positioned at the 15-meter mark from both ends.

9.4.4 No camera flash or mobile device flash is allowed at the swimming deck.
