Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year in 2022

The ICSD is pleased to announce the Award of Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year for 2022. These athletes have demonstrated outstanding performances in their respective sports and are role models for other athletes, particularly for the youth.

The ICSD Members and Sport Directors nominated their best female and male athletes from 2022. The Executive Board of the ICSD has voted for the best athletes of the year 2022:

The Sportswoman of the Year 2022 is Carli Cronk from the USA, a 17-year-old swimmer. She has won 12 medals at the Deaflympics 2022 and was awarded by the US Swimming Federation for "most outstanding performance during the previous year."

The Sportsman of the Year 2022 is Ryutaro Ibara from Japan, a 29-year-old swimmer. He has also won several medals at the Deaflympics 2022, totaling 6 medals.

ICSD congratulates the athletes of the year 2022 for their outstanding performances, as well as all other athletes who have given their best for their sports. The award for Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year in 2022 will be presented at the next ICSD congress.

Every athlete must be aware that they are role models for the youth and have an impact on the development of Deaflympics and ICSD.

We wish all athletes the best for their future.
