Table Tennis
Dear Sportfriends!
With the participation of 15 Technical Directors the actual inspection was carried recently in Taipei this past October.
I am overjoyed at the fact that in spite of my worries the table tennis venue of the forthcoming Summer Deaflympics will be in perfect harmony with the regulations and expectations.
The huge grandstand of the Taipei Arena is capable to host fifteen thousand fans. Information on the brand of tables and the other implements will shortly be released. The Taipei Organizing Committee is given a deadline of the 30 November to identify the official ball brand. As soon as the information is available, every Federation will be notified via e-mail either by the T2009 or myself.
The picture shows clearly the place where the tournament will take place - the Terraflex flooring meets the ITTF list of approval.
Once again, may I remind you that the candidates to organize the 2nd World Deaf Table Tennis Championships in 2012 are still welcome to bid. Applications are accepted until 31 January 2009!
I wish the OC a successful preparation and we have less than a year to go and see each other again in Taipei.
