ICSD sanctions swimmer Guilherme Kabbach with a 3-year period of ineligibility for the presence of a prohibited substance
The International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) reports that Brazilian swimmer Guilherme Kabbach has been sanctioned with a three-year period of ineligibility after testing positive for the metabolites of the prohibited substance dehydrochloromethyl-testosterone.
The International Testing Agency (ITA), which is responsible for result management on behalf of the ICSD, confirms that Guilherme Kabbach has been suspended for a three-year period after testing positive for dehydrochloromethyl-testosterone metabolites (classified under S1.1 anabolic androgenic steroids as per the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List). The positive sample was collected during an in-competition control on 12 November 2024 at the Pan American Games for the Deaf.
Guilherme Kabbach did not challenge the Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) and agreed to the consequences proposed by the ITA. The athlete has accepted a three-year period of ineligibility, which runs until 2 February 2028. All competitive results obtained by Guilherme Kabbach on or after 12 November 2024 (the date of the positive test) are disqualified.
The ICSD remains committed to upholding the integrity of sport for deaf athletes worldwide through the strict enforcement of anti-doping regulations in compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code.
