Ice Hockey

Happy New Year to everyone!!!

I am pleased to say that World Deaf Ice Hockey and Curling Championships Chairman Brian Broszeit and his wonderful committee have been diligent preparing the 1st World Deaf Ice Hockey and Curling Championships (WDIHCC) scheduled for 10-18 April 2009 in Winnipeg, Canada.

This great event will host 5 ice hockey teams who have confirmed to participate. The teams are: Canada, Finland, Russia, Slovakia and United States.

All preliminary games will be played at St. James Civic Center and the Medal games at MTS Center.

The World Deaf Championships games will provide us with an opportunity to meet athletes from other countries who will be competing at their best level. I also can't stress enough the importance of values to support the principles of fair play, team spirit, enthusiasm, and good sportsmanship that will make this 1st World Deaf Ice Hockey and Curling Championships a great success.

Please watch for the Ice Hockey game schedule that will be posted in the WDIHCC website – www.worlddeafhockeycurling2009.com in a couple of weeks.

See you all in April!!
