GAISF Press Release

The first GAISF Corner of the International Sports Federations at the 15th Sportel market in Monaco,from 11 to 14 October, was a resounding success.

A great number of Federations united under the banner of GAISF were represented this year including the IAAF (Athletics) the FITA (Archery), IBF (Badminton),FIBA (Basketball), WCF (Curling), UCI (Cycling), FEI (Equestrian Sports), FIE (Fencing), FIFA (Football),FIG (Gymnastics), FIH (Hockey), IRB (Rugby), ITTF (Table Tennis), FIVB (Volleyball) and IWGA (World Games).

The GAISF Corner featured a display of sports articles and we thank the IFs who supplied these and offered the most floor space of any stand to welcome the International Sports Federations for their meetings.

The International Gymnastics Federation, which had a stand in the GAISF Corner, took a particularly active part in the event and for its 10th participation at the International Sportel Exhibition, invited several Olympic champions for gymnastics demonstrations.

We hope that other initiatives of this kind will be taken at the next edition of GAISF Corner at Sportel Monaco in 2005 and we count on a greater participation of the International Sports Federations.
