Basketball

Dear all basketball friends!

2011 World Deaf Basketball Championships – Qualification matches
For the first time in history we need the WC Qualification match. Because of 17 registered men´s team, where not more than 16 teams to apply for WC, we need the qualification matches. Both teams Great Britain and Sweden have within the last four years not participated in various competitions, besides all the other 15 registered teams. EDSO takes on responsibility and organizes the qualification matches:

  1. WC Qualification match: SWE – GBR on 2 April 2011 at 13:30h in Stockholm
  2. WC Qualification match: GBR - SWE on 10 April 2011 at 15:00h in London

More information about both events, see here: http://www.facebook.com/World.Deaf.Basketball?sk=events

I wish both teams safety trip and good luck for games.

2011 World Deaf Basketball Championships in Palermo/ITA
On 7 February 2011 I was in Rome for special meeting with Italian Deaf Sports Federation (FSSI) and Local Organizing Committee “Palermo 2011” (COL). The meeting was important for all. My next site inspection in Sicily will be held very soon. After site inspection all information about 2011 WC will send out to all participating countries.

The website for 2011 WC (www.palermo2011.org) is opened recently. The information will also appear there.

I want to inform sad that three women’s teams (Australia, Ireland and Israel) withdrew with various reasons.
