Jürgen Endress of Germany has been appointed to serve as Technical Director in Basketball for 2010-2013.

PERSONALITY
He was born in a Bavarian village in the summer of 1974 and he is deaf (4th Deaf Generation). He went to High School for the Deaf in Munich and later took courses in industrial electronics. His current occupation is piston systems adjuster for automobile MAHLE GmbH in Alzenau. Now he lives in Hanau (Hessen, Germany) and has a son. He can communicate in German Sign Language, International Sign Language, written German and English. His hobby is basketball, computer and travel.

BASKETBALL EXPERIENCE
He has played basketball since 1986, today he is still active in his Deaf Club in Frankfurt/Main. He was a member of German Deaf National Basketball Team from 1993 until 1997 and participated in many international competitions (under 1997 World Games for the Deaf in Copenhagen, Denmark and European Deaf Basketball Championship 1996 in Cracow, Poland). In addition he was an Assistant Coach of German Deaf National Basketball Men’s Team for the European Deaf Championship 2004 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He has an official national coach license (since 1998) and referee (since 2000). His innumerable volunteer involvements have expanded his experiences. He was also member of Organization Committee & Assistant Technical Director at the European Deaf Championships 2008 in Bamberg, Germany and Assistant Technical Director at the 2009 Summer Deaflympics in Taipei. Since 2009 he has been the President/Secretary General for Deaf International Basketball Federation (DIBF) Zone Europe. His personal strengths include attention to detail, organizational skills, and knowledge of current International Basketball Federation (FIBA) rules and regulations for competitions. His deep experience as an athlete, referee, coach, leader, and tournament host chair gives him an unique all-around perspective on how a basketball event is run in a fair and efficient manner.
