A native of Oslo and a mother of three children. Many times European champion in the 5km classical, 10km pursuit events. Member of the CISS Double Games Honorable Club as she also competed at the 1989 Deaf World Summer Games, where she placed fourth in two athletics events, the 1500m and 3000m. She was a participant at the 1988 European Championship in Orienteering. Took part in the World Cup and Norwegian championships in Nordic skiing among the non-deaf. While attending as a guest of honor at the 75th CISS Anniversary Gala held in Davos, Switzerland, in 1999, she received the 1998 Sportswoman of the Year Award Winner. She is also 5-time Sportswoman of the Year Finalist (1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, and 2003).
