Born in the city of Bornheim, a perennial member of ASV Köln Sports Club. Competing at seven Deaf World Games, she won a record total of 24 medals, including 14 gold. Won a last medal - a silver - at the 1993 World Games for the Deaf when she was 48 years old. She also amassed countless gold, silver and bronze medals at various international meets, including European Championships. World record holder in nine different running distance events of 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1000m, 1500m, 3000m, 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay. In I982 received the American Athletic Association of the Deaf/USA Female Athlete of the Century Award.
