He is considered one of history's most unique and outstanding wrestlers by the International Amateur Wrestling Federation (FILA). Thanks to his achievements and popularity in the world of wrestling, the CISS leadership was induced to include wrestling as a medal sport at the Deaf World Games at Helsinki, Finland, in 1961. Competed at the Deaf World Games three times (1961, 1965 and 1969), in which he won a total of 5 medals (2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze). 1955 world champion among the non-deaf in the 52kg Greco-roman weight class, at the world championships held in Karlsruhe, Germany.
